Viy 2: Journey to China (Russian: Тайна печати дракона)[Note 1] is a 2019 Russian-Chinese fantasy adventure film.[1] It is the sequel to Viy, the 2014 cinema hit loosely based on the Nikolai Gogol story Viy. Produced by Gleb Fetisov, Alexey A. Petrukhin and Sergey Sozanovskiy, the film is directed by Oleg Stepchenko from a screenplay by Stepchenko, Petrukhin and Dmitri Palees. The film stars Jason Flemyng (who reprises his role from the first film), Charles Dance (who reprises his role from the first film), Rutger Hauer (in one of his final films before his death), Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Helen Yao.

Viy 2: Journey to China was released in China on 16 August 2019 by Universal Pictures.


Early 1700: Cartographer Jonathan Green (Jason Flemyng) from Forbidden Kingdom (2014) is back to map the Russian Far East. He's forced on to China, where he confronts the Dragon Master et al. The iron masked Russian Czar escapes the Tower of London to a Russian ship.
